A pinch from my book, The Wives of Machismo, "The Story Behind The Dress.".

It's early evening on Saturday and John is sitting on the couch watching TV where he has been for several hours.

Delfina walks into the living room in an exquisite gold, fitted dress made of sequins and stones. The dress sits slightly above her knees and compliments her matching purse and stilettos.

“How do I look?" she asked John as she placed her hands on her hips and smiled.

"Like a tramp," he replied.

Delfina gasped, "Excuse me?" she says in shock.

"I said like a tramp. Now go take that shit off!" he says.

Her mouth drops open and she frowns. Shocked and confused she heads towards the front door anyways.

He jumps off the couch and starts ripping the dress off of her.

Delfina screams in shock. She begins to cry.

"I can't believe you did that!" she yells.

"You’re a married woman now! Married women don't go out without their husbands!" yells John.

"What?" she says.

"You heard me! Now go take the rest of that shit off or I will take it off for you," yells John.

Delfina is in utter shock!

She goes to the bedroom and removes the rest of the dress and then slowly takes off her makeup.

She continues to cry as she puts on her pajamas.

She loves John and she doesn't want to lose him.

She makes her way back into the living room and sits on the couch to watch TV with him.

"That's much better," he says, as he places his hand on her thigh and begins caressing it.

So, you find out your man is talking to another woman. . .

So, you find out your man is talking to another woman. . . there are women that will address it, argue it, make her demands, and give him an ultimatum- he either stops this or your relationship will be over. This is a healthy response. You keep your dignity, whether he chooses you or her, because you will not tolerate that he continues this relationship. You hold yourself up high. You are worthy. Even if he chooses her, you can repair yourself from that. Of course, it will be difficult and hurtful, but with faith, prayer, and a support group, you will be okay. You may end up living your happiest life yet. Then there's the unhealthy way to handle this. . . some women become quite pathetic. Yes, they will address their husband about the other woman, but they will cry, they will beg, they will compare themselves to this woman. They become unstable and not want the man to do anything else but talk to them about this. They will stalk the other woman on social media. They will fin...

A peek into the story, "The Girl on His Computer," from my book, "The Wives of Machismo."

Her sister that lives many miles away has emailed her asking for a picture of the boys. She smiles and hops over to Marcos's computer because that is where she keeps all of the family pictures. She begins to look through the pictures one by one. She's smiling at all the sweet and funny pictures of her family. All of the sudden, the next picture that she opens isn't of the boys, it's a picture of a girl. This young girl has dirty blonde hair and is sitting inside a truck with the door open. She is posing with a big smile wearing a shirt and a short skirt. Her legs are wide open showing off her layers of flesh between her legs. Veronica instantly feels sick to her stomach at the thought of knowing that this dirty picture is on her husband's computer. She notices the surroundings of where the girl is.
